April 2013- Cateura, Paraguay, is one of the poorest areas of the world and devastated by the problem of garbage.
But could there be a way to take advantage from this problem by transforming it into resource?
This is what Nicolás Gómez, also known as “Cola”, thought of doing. Cola is a “collector” that one day, in the sea of waste, came across an object shaped like a violin, and along with his friend, the musician decided to fix it and bring it back to life. The two continued with their project every day with the idea of forming an orchestra composed of children playing the newly re-born instruments.
This wonderful initiative, as well as making the world cleaner, removes from the road many children who would otherwise be likely to end up in gangs or involved in illegal activities.
Cola teaches us that the music can change the world.
