New floods, new damages, more victims.

Updates from flooding and landslides following heavy monsoon rains in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. 500 victims with still the death toll rising. The charity Action Aid says 5,000 people are missing in the area.

“There is no country in the world that is as vulnerable, on so many dimensions, to climate change as India is,” Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said in a statement released with the report on Tuesday. “We must continue this focus on rigorous climate change science.” (2010) Click here to see the full article.

Yesterday on the other side of the world overflowing rivers inundated communities throughout Southern Alberta (Western Canada).
