The final verdict: Berlusconi sentenced to 7 years

I am proud to present a national news as pick of the day: the final verdict for Silvio Berlusconi, former Italian Prime Minister. One year for the charge of paying a minor prostitute for sex, Ruby, and five years for abuse of power, when he tried to get her release from a theft charge.

Known for his legal loopholes that set him free after any accusation and/or sentence, this time he will have a hard time in escaping his reality. Although he still can play his best cards in the next two levels of appeal, he has been barred for life to hold public office.

To fresh up your memory I want to show you another video of around 8 months ago, when he was sentenced to 4 years for tax evasion.

Law is equal for everyone. A statement that can be finally applied even to Mr Berlusconi, who has been untouchable for decades.

The ‘red judicial system’ (how he usually appoints it) has delivered the verdict, but will he serve his term of imprisonment? The advanced age and still two appeals to go may put some doubts on the issue.

One thing is for sure, no more official position in politics for Mr Berlusconi.
