A tragic Sunday for 305 people who took off from Seoul (South Korea) with an Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 and crashed landing at San Francisco (USA).
Two 16-year-old Chinese passengers died and were found next to the burning wreckage. 182 were taken to the hospital, while other 123 people survived unharmed.
Asiana CEO and President Yoon Young-doo said there was no engine failure, to his knowledge. “The company will conduct an accurate analysis on the cause of this accident and take strong countermeasures for safe operation in the future with the lesson learned from this accident,” Yoon said. (CNN)
Chinese investigators are working together with US ones to find out what caused the terrible crash, although the inquiry will take around two years.
